Heidi Cardigan Knit Pattern
PATTERN INFORMATION
This cardigan is very beginner-friendly, with a simple boxy shape and a slightly oversized, cropped fit and shaping for a drop shoulder. It is worked from the back hem to the front hem in one piece (no short rows) with the option to add more length. The button bands, neckline, and sleeves are picked up and worked separately. After finishing the back panel, it gets split into three sections: one for the right front panel, one for the neckline and one for the left front panel. Each front panel is worked separately, whilst the remaining stitches for the neckline are kept on hold. The button bands are worked to create six buttonholes, after which the stitches for the neckline are picked up again. The sleeves are picked up along the sides of the cardigan and worked in the round to the cuffs, again with the option to add more length. Only the sides of the body need to be sewn together at the end.
