become a pattern tester

I am always looking for people to test my patterns; without pattern testers, none of my pattern releases would be possible. Sign up for the newsletter if you’re interested in testing any of my upcoming patterns <3

Some helpful information on my testing process:

What is a pattern tester? As a pattern tester, you will be sent the pattern ahead of its release and will test its instructions to ensure that the final project fits well, the pattern is written clearly, and that the pattern is of good quality to be sold.

What is the deadline? Depending on the project, I give 6-12 weeks. This includes the yarn delivery time.

What is expected of me as a pattern tester? I need you to follow the pattern as closely as possible, share any difficulties you’re having and flag any mistakes you’ve spotted. I require all final feedback and project images of the finished project to be sent to me by the deadline. I may also send some follow-up questions to gather more project-specific information.

How do I share feedback? All testers will have access to a live document with the ability to leave comments for everyone to see and respond to. This way, any issues are visible to all testers in real-time, which is particularly helpful if I’m ever unable to respond for a couple of days. You can also send me feedback or questions via email, which is how we will mainly communicate during a pattern test.

How are testers picked? All testers are picked using a random number generator; however, whether through a public Instagram or Ravelry account, I need to have visibility of your previous projects. Ideally, I only need to have a quick glance at your account to get an idea of your style and experience. Due to time constraints, I will not consider private accounts, drive links, etc., and I will not consider testers whose previous work I cannot clearly see.

I have signed up. What happens next? You’ve been added to the newsletter and will receive an email when upcoming patterns need to be tested. The email will entail all the pattern test information (deadline, materials etc.) and an option for you to apply to the pattern test. If you’re not interested in pattern testing a project, you can just ignore the email. Chosen testers are contacted via email containing a link to the pattern, within 1-3 days of the newsletter being sent out.

Signing up does not guarantee that you will pattern test for me. You are signing up to receive notifications whenever I am looking for pattern testers. You can then apply for the specific pattern test mentioned in the newsletter. You will only be contacted in regards to pattern tests, no spam!

No patterns currently need testing.

You can still sign up below to be the first to know of upcoming pattern tests.

Thank you!
